When we gather and work together as a community of artists we inspire our friends and neighbors to join us in our exploration. We revel in our mutual curiosity and help each other to engage in a collaborative process which transforms our community for the better.
Belonging is a strong feeling that is integral to human nature and is fundamental to our physiological needs, safety, self esteem and self actualization. We owe it to one another to create community conscientiously. We owe it to ourselves to insure that the community we create benefits the well being of each and every member. Humans are creative by nature. Why not create beauty and acceptance, relishing in our mutual thirst for life?

I love my alone time in the studio, just me, these two hands and my newest project. I love the quiet concentration, enjoy the fantastic feeling of my body disappearing as my mind slips away into my work.

I also thrive on human contact. Other people’s stories fascinate me. I can’t describe the thrill I feel when someone stands next to me, looks at my work and confesses a memory, a dream or an emotion.

Sometimes I’ll work out an idea with a fellow artist. It’s exiting to understand another person's approach. This is one way I discover exciting new tools.

Today I'm reaching out, creating new appendages as I search for new ways to interact with other art lovers and creative thinkers. I’m writing down these thoughts because I suspect there are others out there that have had similar thoughts. We’ll meet one day in person and share our perspectives. We’ll both learn and grow from the exchange.
